In 2010, Olivia’s House was able to realize a dream that it had been nurturing since 2007 when K.C. Delp was first hired as our Development Coordinator. K.C. had graduated with a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Television and Film Production. Leslie always dreamed of moving the mission forward through media, and all that involved, with the help of K.C. Imagine Leslie’s pride as K.C. led the design, creation and implementation of the very first, fully functioning recording studio in a grief center.
With construction complete thanks to our friends at A Little Hope Foundation, Olivia’s in-House productions became a reality in January of 2011 when we recorded our first musical piece written and performed by a graduate of our Hearts Can Heal program. Ryan recorded, “For My Father (The One I Miss)” in our video suite and it soon became background music for a video piece with the York Dispatch newspaper.
In 2023, our video “20 Years of Healing Hearts” was named a winner in the 45th Annual Telly Awards. Premiering at the Annual Olivian Gala, this award-winning video was produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Olivia’s House. Starring Hearts Can Heal alumni Diamond, the story focuses on welcoming families back into the grief center following the COVID-19 pandemic. The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring video and television across all screens. Established in 1979, The Telly Awards receives over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents. Entrants are judged by The Telly Awards Judging Council—an industry body of over 200 leading experts including advertising agencies, production companies, and major television networks.
The production company lends its energy to the children of Olivia’s House as they put their poetry and thoughts on video or in print. Whether writing books, creating music, producing videos that focus on topics of grief and loss, or sharing stories from the children with the public in a teaching format, Olivia’s in-House Productions will be at the core of all we do!
