Hearts Can Heal
This eight session peer support program serves children ages 6-18 and their families after the death of a parent or sibling. Education addresses the many issues associated with the child's bereavement process after the loss of a loved one.
Hearts Can Heal Session Outline:
Week 1: Meeting new friends
Week 2: Feelings and Self-Esteem
Week 3: Memories
Week 4: Funeral Home Field trip
Week 5: Coping Skills
Week 6: Alumni night
Week 7: Group wrap up
Week 8: Celebration of Life Dinner and closing ceremony
* Parents will accompany their children but will attend their own adult group.
